Become a partner
Partnership is the foundation of our approach. A partnership perspective guides all our relationships with partners, investors and benefactors. We take a long term view on relationships and seek to build bonds based on respect, honesty, shared value and mutual support.
FONA's core strength is to drive cross-sector partnerships based on mutual benefit. We know that partnership and collaboration are essential to our success. We are committed to creating value for our partners that returns many multiples of their investment. We deliver tangible and positive impact our partners can be proud to be associated with.
We welcome collaboration with partners from the business, government, academic and research, philanthropic or non-profit sectors. Contact us for more information about partnering with us or supporting our work - email us at [email protected].
The reason I wanted to partner with FONA was because of the vision they have…it’s about bringing the best you can.

Academic and research partners
We are always interested to identify and work with leading academics in areas impacting development, and offer opportunities for those involved to apply their expertise to live projects and further their research. We are active in finding funding for such initiatives to get both research and research application projects off the ground and we proactively communicate about our partners and work to other institutions and influencers in the field to attract more funding, credibility and support to both parties.
To date, we have working relationships with The University of Melbourne, Macquarie University and the Thrive Research Hub.
FONA adopts a commercial approach to ensure programs and projects deliver. We aim to create long term partnerships that deliver clear benefits to our corporate partners while leveraging partner funding or expertise for FONA’s projects. We tailor partnerships so that they deliver value on investment and align to our partners' and their clients’ corporate social responsibility agenda. For example, to date we have worked with companies as part of an integrated team to implement projects, or to generate funds for projects which are aligned to the partner’s vision and values We also offer volunteering opportunities for their staff as well as leadership and team building programs for their executive teams, in the context of trips to visit, and take part in, our projects abroad.
Not for profit partners
Organisations that work together achieve more powerful results than they can alone. This has been our experience working alongside partners such as The Australian Himalayan Foundation, the Heritage and Environment Conservation Foundation Nepal (HEC Foundation) and the Micro-Enterprise Development Program (MEDEP).
